Welcome 2018!

Hello 2018!

Hello friends, students, and fans! I have officially declared 2018 as the year of recording!

Oh, it’s been a long time… and I am so looking forward to it.

On January 8th I will be recording a solo piano CD on my own Yamaha C3 with the recording expertise of Lauren Passarelli, Professor, Guitar Department (Berklee). January 8th is the 4 year anniversary of my mother’s passing, and it feels just the right day to create this recording, “Sophisticated Lady”, in her honor.

I will be playing a combination of our favorite standards, improvisations on a Hungarian Lullabye, (expanded upon since “The Illumination”) a beautiful tune by Bruce Gertz, an original classical-like piece, and an involved re-harmonization of Sophisticated Lady. I have been working diligently on the arrangements and my compostion; striving to be in the flow, with spirit, and connecting with all who hear my music. In March, I will be recording with my quartet, my favorite setting! The musicians will be Dino Govoni on tenor sax, Bruce Gertz on bass, and Casey Scheuerell on drums. I have long wanted to record expended versions of some of the tunes in my Upper Structure Triad book, and look forward to reaching new musical heights using the Coupling Triad method. (which I teach in the UST 2 class at Berklee) Some of the tunes we will record are “Inner Courage”, “Talkin”, “Have We Met”, and “Suz Blues”. I will also do a duo version of my arrangement of “Sophisticated Lady” with Dino.

The quartet will have a number of performances before we record, check back for the dates!
